I’m Alexandra Inman (she/her)

Founder & Registered Dietitian

Alexandra (Alex) Inman, BSc, MPH, RD is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia and co-founder of Vancouver Dietitians. She has years of experience as a clinical dietitian with Fraser Health where she has experience in Outpatients, Diabetes, Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Pediatrics, and Maternity (to name a few!). Alex graduated with honours from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Food, Nutrition, and Health, where she also completed her Dietetics degree, including her internship with Vancouver Coastal Health. She has also achieved her Master of Public Health degree at Brock University.
 

Alex believes in lifelong learning, and is always staying on top of the latest, best available nutrition research and education to help serve her clients better. Alex has completed the training to become a Modulife provider for the Crohn’s Disease Exclusion Diet. She has also completed the Monash University ‘Low FODMAP Diet for IBS’ online training course for health professionals. Alex is a weight-inclusive practitioner. 

She believes in focusing on health gain rather than weight loss, and that health and wellness are worthwhile goals no matter your body shape or size. She takes great pride in helping her clients ditch dieting and build a positive relationship with food and exercise. When she’s not working, you can find Alex experimenting with new recipes in her kitchen, buying way too many plants, trying a new exercise class, or exploring the North Shore mountains.

I’m Stephanie Dang (she/her)

Registered Dietitian

Hello and a warm welcome! My name is Stephanie, and I am a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, and co-founder of Vancouver Dietitians and CAYA Health Centre. I completed my dietetics degree with the University of British Columbia, and I have also completed the PCOS Training Course for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, accredited by the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. 

I worked for years as a clinical dietitian at BC Children’s & Women’s hospital, primarily in gastroenterology and eating disorders. I also worked as a sports dietitian for the Richmond Olympic Oval and Mint Club Athletics helping high performance athletes fuel their performance. I have worked with teams such as Volleyball Canada, UBC Rowing, BC Rugby, BC Speed Skating, Karate BC, Richmond Swim Club, Fusion Soccer Club, and more. I co-founded Vancouver Dietitians in 2016, focusing my practice on helping people heal their relationship with food, working with folks with eating disorders and disordered eating, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), hormonal imbalances, prenatal & postnatal nutrition, and fueling for sport/sports nutrition. 

I am also passionate about helping folks with ADHD and OCD with meal planning and nutrition tips. I believe that health is more than just a number on the scale, and I strive to help people build a positive relationship with food and their bodies through realistic and sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes. I want to help you find peace with food, and feel good doing it! In my free time, you can find me trying new restaurants, experimenting in my kitchen, and road biking around the lower mainland! I look forward to meeting you soon!

I’m Kate Stafford (she/her)

Registered Dietitian

Kate Stafford, BSc, RD, is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British
Columbia. She obtained her dietetics degree from the University of British Columbia and completed her dietetic internship with Vancouver Coastal Health.

Kate has always had a passion for food because of the role it plays in peoples lives. Food can be a source a creativity; bring loved ones together; heal the body; represent culture; the list goes on. With this in mind Kate supports her clients in establishing positive relationships with food, so her clients can continue to enjoy all aspects of food. Doing away with diet culture, she helps people establish sustainable lifestyle change to support patients achieving their goals. Kate believes in a patient-centered approach, in which your goals are held to the upmost priority.

Kate has worked in a variety of practice areas, with a special interest in chronic disease
management and prevention. Beyond diabetes, weight management, and disordered eating, she has also worked on inpatient wards specialising in gastrointestinal disease, transplant programs, and acute medical care. She also has experience supporting clients with pre- and post-natal nutrition at BC Women’s Hospital.

In her free time you will find Kate cooking or baking, on the mountain skiing, doing a pilates class, or eyeing up the latest trend in fashion (with a brief stint working in the fashion industry, she can talk about clothing and styling any day). Kate cannot wait to work with you!

I’m Marina Balic (she/her)

Registered Dietitian

Marina Balic, BSc, RD, CDE is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. Marina graduated with an honours dietetics degree from the University of British Columbia, and did her dietetic internship with Fraser Health Authority. Marina is also a Certified Diabetes Educator, which is a healthcare professional that is specialized and certified to teach people with diabetes how to manage their condition and prevent long-term complications.Marina started off her career working with critically ill patients as a clinical Dietitian at Royal Columbian Hospital, Burnaby Hospital, and Eagle Ridge Hospitals.

She then realized the importance of preventative health, and decided to focus her practice on working with clients one-on-one. Marina has been working closely with clients living with Type 1, Type 2, and Pre-Diabetes at Diabetes Health Centres for over 3 years. Through her work in this area, she regularly counsels’ people who are also living with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and also celiac disease. She practices with a weight-inclusive, body-positive approach and prefers to focus on chronic disease management that still allows you to include foods you enjoy, without the guilt. Marina also has extensive experience working with pregnant patients living with conditions such as gestational diabetes and with severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. In her time working as a Dietitian in a maternity clinic, she has gained a passion for understanding the best science-based nutrition practices for pregnant women and how to support expecting mama’s through this exciting stage in life.

 Marina’s goal is to empower you to feel confident in your journey towards a healthy body.In her free time, Marina likes to go on adventures, backpacking, camping, biking, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

I’m Jen Snyder (she/her)

Registered Dietitian

Jen Snyder, BSc, RD is a registered dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. Jen is born and raised in Burnaby, BC, and obtained her dietetics degree from the University of British Columbia with honours. She completed her internship/practice education at Providence Health Care, and is currently working in the internal medicine inpatient unit at St. Paul’s Hospital. 

Over the past 2 years, Jen has supported individuals with a variety of illnesses in inpatient and outpatient care, including cardiac, diabetes, cancer, gastrointestinal surgery, chronic kidney disease, and eating disorders She also has some educational experience in kinesiology, and is knowledgeable in sports nutrition. 

Jen is passionate about helping people navigate through the confusing world of nutrition and fostering positive relationships with food in a realistic way for individuals. In Jen’s free time, you can catch her spending time in nature and having quality time with friends and family.

I’m Lily Barrett (she/her)

Registered Dietitian

Lily is a registered dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. After completing her Master’s in Nutrition in 2021 from the University of Guelph Ontario, she has been working in nutrition care in both a clinical and outpatient setting at B.C. Children’s Hospital.

Lily has experience in a variety of different areas including gastrointestinal diseases management, type 2 diabetes & pre-diabetes, kidney disease management, pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric cardiology unit, and ketogenic diet for epilepsy control. Working closely with individuals and families, Lily always strives to provide the most client centred care to help individuals achieve their goals.

Lily believes in a science led approach to nutrition. Pulling information from scientific studies to provide the most up to date nutrition information for her clients.

Lily’s goal is to empower you to take control of your choices and create the changes you want to see in your life.

When Lily is not working you’ll likely find her at the beach or riding her bike around town!
